582 / 582

Kalos introduced Fairy types, Mega Evolution, and the 3DS engine that carried Pokemon for six years. The Kalos Pokedex in X and Y is split into three sub-dexes (Central, Coastal, Mountain) instead of a single regional list. This page rolls them into one complete Kalos pokedex, in entry order, with every Pokemon you can catch across the three zones.

About the Kalos Pokedex

Kalos is the Gen 6 region from Pokemon X and Y on the 3DS, the first fully 3D mainline Pokemon games. The Kalos Pokedex is unusual because it is split into three sub-dexes (Central Kalos, Coastal Kalos, Mountain Kalos) instead of one continuous list. X and Y together introduced the Fairy type, Mega Evolution, and 72 new Pokemon.

Starters in Kalos

Kalos starters are Chespin (Grass), Fennekin (Fire), and Froakie (Water). Froakie's final evolution Greninja became one of the most popular Pokemon of all time. X and Y also give you a Kanto starter (Bulbasaur, Charmander, or Squirtle) early in the game, all capable of Mega Evolving.

Legendary Pokemon in Kalos

Xerneas is the Kalos cover legendary of X. Yveltal is the cover of Y. Zygarde is the third member of the Aura trio and has multiple formes. Diancie, Hoopa, and Volcanion are the Mythical Pokemon tied to Kalos. AZ's Floette, a special forme, is unavailable through normal play.

Kalos Gym Leaders

Kalos gym leaders are Viola (Bug), Grant (Rock), Korrina (Fighting, tied to Mega Evolution), Ramos (Grass), Clemont (Electric), Valerie (Fairy), Olympia (Psychic), and Wulfric (Ice). Diantha is the Kalos Champion and uses a Mega Gardevoir in the final fight.

Completing the Kalos Pokedex

A complete Kalos pokedex means finishing all three regional sub-dexes (Central, Coastal, Mountain). The national Kalos pokedex unlocks after the main story. Friend Safari routes, exclusive to X and Y, are the best source of Hidden Abilities for many Kalos and cross-gen Pokemon.
