Hisui is ancient Sinnoh, the setting of Pokemon Legends: Arceus. The Hisui Pokedex works differently from every other game in the series: research tasks, agile and strong style encounters, no traditional gyms. New regional forms like Hisuian Growlithe and Hisuian Zorua bring the Hisui list to 242 entries. Browse the full Hisui Pokedex below.
About the Hisui Pokedex
Hisui is the ancient version of the Sinnoh region and the setting of Pokemon Legends: Arceus. The Hisui Pokedex works differently from every other mainline game: research tasks, agile and strong style attacks, and no traditional gym battles. Hisui introduced regional forms like Hisuian Growlithe, Hisuian Voltorb, Hisuian Zorua, and Hisuian Braviary.
Starters in Hisui
Hisui lets you pick Rowlet, Cyndaquil, or Oshawott, a cross-generational starter trio pulled from Kanto, Johto, Alola, and Unova heritage. Hisuian Decidueye becomes Grass and Fighting. Hisuian Typhlosion becomes Fire and Ghost. Hisuian Samurott becomes Water and Dark.
Legendary Pokemon in Hisui
Arceus is the central Hisui legendary and the creator god of the Pokemon world. The Lake Guardians (Uxie, Mesprit, Azelf), Dialga Origin Forme, Palkia Origin Forme, and Giratina all play roles in the Hisui storyline. Phione and Manaphy, the Almighty Sinnoh, and Enamorus (a new Hisui legendary) round out the list.
Hisui Research Tasks
In place of gym battles, Hisui pokedex completion is tied to research tasks. Each Pokemon has multiple research objectives: catch count, see it use a specific move, defeat it using a specific style, and so on. Completing research is how you level up the Hisui pokedex entries.
Completing the Hisui Pokedex
The Hisui pokedex has 242 entries, including Hisuian regional variants and a small number of new species. Alpha Pokemon, oversized elite versions, are scattered across each Hisui area and count separately. Completing the Hisui pokedex is the main requirement for unlocking the final Arceus battle.
