Pokepedia

Terms of Use

The rules. Short, plain, no weird small print.

Using Pokepedia means you're okay with the terms below. They're short on purpose. If anything here is unclear, use the contact form and ask.

Last updated: April 22, 2026.

What Pokepedia is

Pokepedia is an independent fan project. It's not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Nintendo, Game Freak, or The Pokémon Company. Pokemon names, artwork, sprites, and game metadata belong to their respective owners and are used here under fair-use principles for informational and editorial purposes. Full details on the Fair Use page.

What you can do

  • Use every tool and every page without an account, an email, or a payment.
  • Mark Pokemon as caught, export your tracker file, and re-import it on another device.
  • Build trainer cards and export them as PNGs to share anywhere you like.
  • Link to any Pokepedia page from your own site, blog, or social media.
  • Quote small amounts of Pokepedia's own writing with a visible link back.

What's not okay

  • Bulk-scraping the site or republishing the database as your own. The Pokemon facts come from public sources; my work is in how they're organized and presented. Don't copy that wholesale.
  • Hammering the servers with automated traffic. Scripts that hit the site hundreds of times a second will get blocked. If you need data for a personal project, ask and we'll probably work something out.
  • Passing Pokepedia off as something official. It's a fan project, not an arm of Nintendo or Game Freak.
  • Using the site to do anything illegal, abusive, or harmful to other people.

Ad-free purchase

Going ad-free is a one-time purchase processed by Stripe. It removes ads on the browser you paid from. Because Pokepedia has no account system, the ad-free status is tied to a signed token stored on that device and in a cookie. If you clear your browser data or switch to a new device, the purchase may not follow you automatically. Contact me and I'll restore it.

Refunds are handled case-by-case; email through the contact form and I'll sort it out.

Outbound links & affiliates

The merchandise page includes affiliate links (mostly eBay). If you buy something through one, Pokepedia may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. That's the only commercial element beyond ads.

Any other external link on the site is informational. Pokepedia isn't responsible for the content or privacy practices of the sites those links lead to.

No warranty, honest effort

I try hard to keep the data accurate, but Pokepedia is provided as-is. If something critical depends on a fact you found here (a competitive ruleset, an eBay purchase, a Nuzlocke run), double-check it against the source material. The site won't be liable for anything that goes sideways because of a bad number or a broken sprite. That said, if you spot one, tell me and I'll fix it.

Changes

If these terms ever change meaningfully, the date at the top will change and the update will land on the changelog. Continuing to use the site after a change means you're okay with the new version.
