Tip the jar.

Pokepedia is a fan project, not a company. There is no team, no investors, no upsell. If the site has been useful, chip in a buck a month or ten once. As a thank-you, every ad on every page disappears for you.

Thank-you perk

Quiet pages. Pokemon art you can actually see.

The thank-you for supporters happens to be that every page on Pokepedia goes quiet for you. No banners, no auto-playing videos next to Bulbasaur, no flashing GIFs between quiz questions, no mystery sidebar creeping up mid-tracker. Just the Pokedex, the artwork, and the tools, the way they were meant to look.

  • Every page reads clean for you. The hero art breathes. The type chart stays the type chart.
  • Your phone stops lighting up with pop-overs while you are trying to catch up on your tracker.
  • Your tip helps cover the actual cost of running the site (hosting, the data pipeline, the domain) so it stays free for every fan who shows up after you.
  • You are telling one returning fan that this thing is worth making, and that is the best caffeine I could ask for.
  • Nothing about the facts, tools, or data changes. Every Pokemon, every move, every game stays free and open to everyone, supporter or not. Ad-free is just a thank-you from one fan to another.

A few honest notes

Pokepedia is an independent fan-made reference site. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Nintendo, The Pokemon Company, Game Freak, or Creatures Inc. All Pokemon names, artwork, and trademarks are property of their respective owners.

Tips through this page are voluntary support for a fan project. They are not charitable donations and are not tax-deductible. Pokepedia is not a registered non-profit. Tips help cover hosting, the data pipeline, and the domain. The site itself remains free and open to everyone whether or not you tip.

Frequently asked

Support FAQ

What is this exactly?

A tip jar. Pokepedia is a fan project run by one person. There is no team, no investors, no commercial endeavor. If the site has been useful and you want to help cover what it costs to keep online (hosting, the data pipeline, the domain), a small recurring or one-time tip helps. As a thank-you, every page goes ad-free for you. The site itself stays free and open for everyone whether or not you tip.

Are tips tax-deductible?

No. Pokepedia is not a registered charity or non-profit, just a fan project. Tips are voluntary support, not charitable donations. You will not receive a tax-deductible receipt. Stripe does send you a regular payment receipt for your records.

Is Pokepedia affiliated with Nintendo or The Pokemon Company?

No. Pokepedia is an independent fan-made reference site. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Nintendo, The Pokemon Company, Game Freak, or Creatures Inc. All Pokemon names, artwork, and trademarks are property of their respective owners. Tips support the operating costs of the fan project itself.

What does the ad-free thank-you cover?

Every page on Pokepedia: the Pokedex, detail pages, tracker, type chart, moves and abilities, blog, everything. All display ads hidden for as long as your support is active.

How does cancellation work?

One click. Use "Manage support" (also on this page) to open the Stripe customer portal, hit Cancel, done. Your ad-free thank-you continues until the end of the period you already paid for.

What is the difference between monthly and one-time?

Monthly is $1 charged every month, cancel anytime. One-time is a $10 single payment that covers ad-free for as long as Pokepedia is online. If you plan to stick around more than ten months, the one-time tip is better value for you.

Is my payment secure?

Payments are processed entirely by Stripe. Pokepedia never sees your card details. You can use card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and many local methods through Stripe.

How do I get ad-free on my phone after tipping on my laptop?

Right after payment you get a license key in the format PKPD-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX. It shows on the thank-you page (with a QR code you can scan from your phone), and Stripe includes it on the receipt it emails you. On any other device, open /ad-free/restore and paste the key to activate ad-free there. Please keep your key to yourself. It is personal proof of support, and keeping it personal is what keeps the site free for everyone.

What if I lose my license key?

Check the Stripe receipt email. The key is in the description line. If you cannot find either, use the contact form and we will verify your Stripe payment and reissue the key manually.

Do I get anything else besides no ads?

For now, no. This is a fan-supporter perk, not a paid product tier. Future supporter-only features (premium trainer cards, extended tracker) may unlock for existing supporters automatically when they ship.

Can I get a refund?

Yes. Email us within 30 days of a one-time tip for a full refund. Monthly tips are not refunded but you can cancel instantly so you are not billed again.
