About Pokemon X
Pokemon X opened Gen 6 on the 3DS in 2013, the first fully 3D mainline Pokemon game. The Pokemon X Pokedex is split across three regional sub-dexes (Central, Coastal, Mountain Kalos). Fairy types made their debut in Pokemon X and Y, retroactively rebalancing several older Pokemon like Clefairy, Gardevoir, and Togekiss. Mega Evolution also debuted.
Starters and Kanto Starters in Pokemon X
Pokemon X starters are Chespin, Fennekin, and Froakie, with Greninja becoming a global favorite. Pokemon X also gifts you one of the three original Kanto starters (Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle) during the story, each with access to Mega Evolution.
Pokemon X Mega Evolutions
Pokemon X introduced 30+ Mega Evolutions, each requiring a specific Mega Stone plus a Key Stone on the trainer. Mega Mewtwo X, a Pokemon X exclusive (Mega Mewtwo Y is the Y counterpart), is one of the strongest Pokemon in Gen 6 competitive play.
Completing the Pokemon X Pokedex
Completing the Pokemon X pokedex means filling all three Kalos sub-dexes plus finding the regional legendary Xerneas. Friend Safari, a Pokemon X and Y exclusive, is the best source of Hidden Ability versions of many Pokemon. Trading with Y fills in the X-exclusive version gaps.
