A complete Pokemon Pearl pokedex run requires trades with Diamond and eventually Platinum. The Grand Underground and Pokeradar chains are shared Pokemon Pearl mechanics. Pokemon Pearl is the easier legal route to Palkia, which became a standout Pokemon in later games as well.
