Trade-only Pokémon
7 Pokémon appear in this Pokédex but cannot be caught in the wild in Diamond. Trade them from Pokémon Pearl to complete your Pokédex.
Pokemon Diamond begins the Gen 4 Sinnoh era. The Pokemon Diamond Pokedex lists 151 Sinnoh dex entries, most tied to the DS's new touch-and-stylus mechanics. Dialga is the version legendary. The Underground minigame lets you dig for fossils and hidden items. Every Pokemon Diamond catchable Pokemon is in the full list below.
About Pokemon Diamond
Pokemon Diamond launched Gen 4 and the Sinnoh region on the DS in 2006 and 2007. The Pokemon Diamond Pokedex has 151 Sinnoh regional entries in the base version, though Pokemon Diamond was later criticized for excluding several cross-evolutions like Magmortar and Electivire from the main Sinnoh dex. Physical and Special split moves debuted here, changing competitive battling permanently.
Starters and Gym Order in Pokemon Diamond
Diamond starters are Turtwig, Chimchar, and Piplup. The Sinnoh gym order starts with Roark in Oreburgh and ends with Volkner in Sunyshore, then the Elite Four: Aaron, Bertha, Flint, Lucian, and Champion Cynthia.
Version Exclusives in Pokemon Diamond
Pokemon Diamond exclusives include Cranidos, Rampardos, Larvitar, Pupitar, Tyranitar, Scyther, Poochyena, and Stunky. Dialga is the Pokemon Diamond cover legendary, controlling time on Spear Pillar.
Completing the Pokemon Diamond Pokedex
Completing the Pokemon Diamond pokedex requires Pearl trades for Pearl-exclusive Pokemon like Shieldon, Bagon, Murkrow, and Glameow. The Pokeradar on Route 210 is a Pokemon Diamond favorite for shiny hunters. The Grand Underground lets you mine fossils and dig for unique items unavailable elsewhere in Sinnoh.
