Pokemon Black kicks off Gen 5 on the DS in 2010 (JP) and 2011 (worldwide). The Pokemon Black Pokedex is the only mainline Pokemon dex built entirely from new species, with 156 new Pokemon and zero returning until the post-game. Reshiram is the Pokemon Black cover legendary, tied to the concept of truth. Black City is Pokemon Black's exclusive endgame location with rotating trainer events.
Story in Pokemon Black
Pokemon Black's story is often cited as the most thematically ambitious in the series. N, the antagonist, questions whether Pokemon should be trained at all. Team Plasma's split between N's idealists and Ghetsis's extremists powers the main plot.
Completing the Pokemon Black Pokedex
A full Pokemon Black pokedex requires White trades for several version exclusives. Pokemon Black's Entralink and Dream World features add Pokemon with Hidden Abilities that aren't normally obtainable. Reshiram's catch is required to finish the story.
