National Dex
#1007
Debut
Gen IX
Base stat total
670

Koraidon has a base Speed of 135 and stands 2.5 m tall. It is based on a mix of lizards and dinosaurs with some European fantasy dragon in it, and it notably resembles the anole and the fan-throated lizards. Koraidon resembles Cyclizar but is far burlier and more ferocious, and nothing is known about its ecology or other features.

Its Orichalcum Pulse ability turns the sunlight harsh when it enters battle and boosts its Attack while it is active.

Chien-Pao

Category
Ruinous Pokémon
National Dex
#1002
Debut
Gen IX
Base stat total
570

Chien-Pao has a base Speed of 135 and stands 1.9 m tall. It may be based on the snow leopard and the prehistoric Smilodon, and the pieces of a sword it uses as fangs may make it a literal saber-toothed cat. The hatred of those who perished by the sword long ago has clad itself in snow and become a Pokemon.

Its Sword of Ruin ability lowers the Defense of all other Pokemon in battle, so physical attacks hit harder while it is out. (Defense is the stat that reduces damage from physical moves.)

#13

Flutter Mane

Flutter Mane has a base Speed of 135 and weighs 4 kg. It is based on Misdreavus, and its wing-like hair may come from the Flying Heads of folklore, which are often described with long hair and sometimes bat-like or bird-like wings. Flutter Mane has similar features to a ghostly pterosaur that was covered in a paranormal magazine, but the two have little else in common.

Its Protosynthesis ability raises its highest stat in harsh sunlight or when it holds a Booster Energy, which is a held item that sets off the ability anywhere.

Debut
Gen IX
Base stat total

Iron Bundle has a base Speed of 136 and stands 0.6 m tall. It is based on Delibird, and its extendable head may come from the jack-in-the-box, a toy associated with Christmas. Its feet resemble water skis, and its Ice and Water typing might refer to the 1997 Space World demo of Gold and Silver, where Delibird's prototype was a Water and Ice type.

Iron Bundle resembles a mysterious object mentioned in an old book, and there are only two reported sightings of it. Its Quark Drive ability raises its highest stat on Electric Terrain or when it holds a Booster Energy.

Barraskewda spins its tail fins to propel itself, surging forward at speeds of over 100 knots before ramming prey and spearing into them.

Its Swift Swim ability doubles its Speed during rain, which would take it to 272.

Zamazenta has a base Speed of 138 and stands 2.9 m tall. It may be based on King Arthur's shield, known as Wynebgwrthucher or Pridwen, and it otherwise resembles a wolf, an animal once native to Great Britain. The armored plating on its body is similar to the barding worn by warhorses in the Late Middle Ages. Zamazenta slept for aeons in the form of a statue, for so long that people forgot it ever existed.

Its Dauntless Shield ability boosts its Defense in battle, and its Defense is already 115.

Zacian has a base Speed of 138 and stands 2.8 m tall. It may be based on King Arthur's sword Excalibur, and its feminine nature may refer to the Lady of the Lake, who gave Arthur the sword. It also resembles a wolf, and its long, hanging blue fur resembles a caparison, a cloth covering worn by warhorses. Zacian has slumbered for many years, and some say it is Zamazenta's elder sister, while others say the two are rivals.

Its Intrepid Sword ability boosts its Attack in battle, and its Attack is already 120, which makes the boost a bonus nobody asked for.

Debut
Gen VII
Base stat total

Zeraora has a base Speed of 143 and stands 1.5 m tall. Its feline appearance may take inspiration from cats and tigers, and its Electric type may allude to Kanehekili, the Hawaiian god of thunder. Its design may also refer to the oni, a supernatural creature often shown with tiger pelts and lightning, and to the kamaitachi because it swiftly slices up its opponents. Wherever Zeraora runs, lightning flashes and thunder echoes.

It is a mythical Pokemon. Its Volt Absorb ability absorbs Electric moves and heals it for a quarter of its maximum HP.

#6

Accelgor

Bug
Category
Shell Out Pokémon
National Dex

Debut
Gen V
Base stat total
495

Accelgor has a base Speed of 145 and stands 0.8 m tall. It may be based on an auto racer or a ninja combined with a slug, a snail or a giant tube worm, and its cloth-like membrane may come from the wraps ninja wear in media. Discarding its shell made Accelgor nimble, and it wraps its body in bands of membrane to keep from drying out.

Its Unburden ability doubles its Speed once it uses or loses a held item.

#5

Deoxys

It is a mythical Pokemon. Its Pressure ability makes moves aimed at it use up one extra PP, the number of times a move can be used.

#4

Electrode

Type

Category
Ball Pokémon
National Dex
#0101
Debut
Gen I
Base stat total
490

Electrode has a base Speed of 150 and stands 1.2 m tall. It is based on a living Poke Ball and is often mistaken for one, and its split white and colored look may come from gashapon capsules. It may also be based on ball lightning, given its spherical shape, its explosive behavior and its habit of drifting on wind. Electrode's body tissue is curiously similar in composition to an Apricorn, and when irritated it lets loose a current equal to 20 lightning bolts.

It is the fastest Pokemon of the original 151. Its Static ability has a 30 percent chance of paralyzing any Pokemon that hits it with a contact move.

#3

Pheromosa

Pheromosa official artwork
Type
BugFighting
Category
Lissome Pokémon
National Dex
#0795
Debut
Gen VII
Base stat total
570

Pheromosa has a base Speed of 151 and stands 1.8 m tall. It may be based on an American cockroach that has molted, which turns the insect white, and it resembles a fashion model given its idle pose. Pheromosa is alien to this world and a danger here, though it is apparently a common organism in the world where it normally lives.

Its Beast Boost ability raises its highest stat by one stage when it faints another Pokemon. (A stage is one step up the in-battle scale for a stat.)

#2

Ninjask

Type
BugFlying
Category
Ninja Pokémon
National Dex
#0291
Debut
Gen III
Base stat total
456

Ninjask has a base Speed of 160 and stands 0.8 m tall. It is based on an adult cicada, and it may also be based on a ninja given its quick movement and its natural ability to learn Double Team. That combination may come from stories of ninjas using cicadas to mask their own sounds. Ninjask is so quick that it is said to avoid any attack, and it loves to feed on tree sap.

Its Speed Boost ability raises its Speed one stage after each turn, so it gets faster the longer it stays in.

#1

Regieleki

Regieleki official artwork
Type
Electric
Category
Electron Pokémon
National Dex
#0894
Debut
Gen VIII
Base stat total
580

Regieleki has a base Speed of 200 and stands 1.2 m tall. It is based on an electric charge held back by insulation, with a body shaped like an incandescent light bulb, coils for restraints and a power plug for legs. As an electric generator found in ancient ruins, it may also draw on an out-of-place artifact such as the Baghdad Battery. Regieleki's entire body is a single organ that generates electrical energy, and it can create all of Galar's electricity.

It is a legendary Pokemon. Its Transistor ability powers up its Electric moves.

Regieleki Is Far Ahead of Everyone Else

Regieleki's Speed of 200 is 40 points above Ninjask's 160, and no other Pokemon in the Pokedex has a base Speed above 151 besides those two. The 13 Pokemon from Pheromosa down to Koraidon fit inside 16 points, from 151 to 135.

So one Pokemon is out of reach and everything behind Ninjask is a crowd. Four Pokemon tie at 135.
