The Pokepedia Compare Pokemon page lists every ability of both Pokemon side by side, including which ones are hidden. Use it to check ability overlap before picking a team, a counter, or a competitive matchup.
Step 1
Open /compare-pokemon and pick two Pokemon with the two search pickers, or navigate directly to the matchup URL. The URL pattern is /compare-pokemon/pikachu-vs-raichu with -vs- as the separator. Example: /compare-pokemon/pikachu-vs-raichu.
Step 2
Scroll to the Abilities section on the matchup page. Each Pokemon gets its own white card listing every ability name in order of slot. The heading is "Abilities" and it sits above the Stat-by-stat breakdown.
Step 3
Read each card to see the ability list. Each entry is the exact ability name. Abilities marked with a red "Hidden" pill are Hidden Abilities, which in the games require a raid, a Dynamax Adventure, a Max Mushroom Ability Patch, or a Hidden Grotto to obtain.
Step 4
Compare the two lists. If both Pokemon share an ability, they have the same trait in battle. If an ability only appears on one side, it is unique to that Pokemon in this matchup. Evolutions often share the pre-evolution ability pool, which is why Pikachu and Raichu both have Static and Lightning Rod.
Step 5
Click any ability name on Pokepedia to open the full ability page at /pokemon-abilities/levitate. That page shows the exact battle effect, the flavor text, and every Pokemon that learns it, split into regular and hidden sections.
