The Tracker shows five stats at the top of the page. Two of them, National Dex and Total Pokemon Caught, confuse people because they count differently. Here's how each one works.
Step 1
National Dex counts unique species. If you caught Pikachu in Yellow, Silver, Ruby, and Scarlet, that's 1 toward National Dex. It's the same Pokemon, just caught in different games. This number tells you how many different species you've collected at least once.
Step 2
Total Pokemon Caught counts every individual catch across every game. Same four Pikachu? That's 4 toward Total Caught. This number shows your total activity and effort across all the games you're tracking.
Step 3
Shiny stats follow the same logic. Unique Shiny Caught counts species. Ten shiny Pikachu in ten games equals 1 unique shiny. Total Shiny Caught counts every entry. Those same ten equal 10 total shinies.
Step 4
Games Played counts how many games have at least one catch. Pokemon in Yellow, Silver, and Scarlet? That's 3 Games Played.
Step 5
Put them together and you get the full picture. National Dex is your species completion goal. Total Caught is your cumulative effort. Shiny stats track hunting progress. Games Played shows how many titles you're active in.
